A Featured Wedding…

Our featured wedding this week was from December 2019. The bride was a local girl with roots in our small community. This sweet couple had a great support team helping to make their wedding vision come to life.

The ceremony took place in a lush green winter field at our own Rustique Acres. They created a statement entrance with our 9ft doors, Wine Barrels, Vintange Trunks. Our Wooden Arch framed their decorative cross and defined the alter for their ceremony. Everything was accented with greenery, lanterns and of course, cotton.

This wedding truly reflected the couple from serving breakfast for dinner, to praise and worship led by a live band to the very personal foot washing ceremony.

Often times during a ceremony the couple does something to symbolize their unity as one. Historically 2 candles were used to simutaneously light a center candle. More recently couples started using sand. Once sand is poured from 2 seperate vessels into a third they can never be seperated again. I could go on with other examples, but I will save that for another post.

Feet washing dates back to bible times and represents Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, which is symbolic of love and humility.

The repurposing of wedding items is a great way to be green, have decor for your home, and have a momento. The guest book is no longer just a book for it can be many things. The couple used this board for their guests to sign and can not hang it on the wall or add legs and turn it into a table. Our Vintage Radio Cabinet is perfect to display the sign in item.

The simple elegance of the decor is carried through to the reception. Guest tables were preset with dinnerware, chargers, and glasses. The center of the tables were lined with more greenery and a few lanterns and votives dispersed along them.

Favors were preset for the guests as well. A mini jar of honey and jam with a note to carry through the breakfast theme.

Another trend is feature the couple their own Sweetheart Table instead of the traditional Head Tables with the entire wedding party.

Who doesn't love yummy Cinnamon Rolls? The logical sweetness for a breakfast menu to celebrate their "best day ever".

Accenting various areas brings continuity thoughout the space and gives a more complete feel. A simple strand of greenery over the bar is all it takes.

Adding your unique details will make for a memorable and talked about event for years to come!
